This composition for Choir by Phillip Neil Martin (shown right, click the image to see Phillip's website) was commissioned by Petronella Dittmer on the occasion of her installation as Master for the year 2008-2009. It was performed at the Company's Carol Service at St Michael's, Cornhill in December 2008 and was conducted by Pastmaster Jonathan Rennert.
The work has been set for SATB voices, based on an amalgamation of words taken from two poems: Was It Light by Theodore Roethke (1908-1963) and Echo by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894).
