Established in 1907 and endowed by Arthur Frederick Hill (Master 1911-1912; Treasurer 1923-1939) this prize was in memory of Leopold Lawrence Stern, a distinguished cellist. It was awarded annually to assist a student of the cello at the Royal College of Music. This award is now in abeyance.
