Known as 'John Henry',  J.H.Iles, OBE (1871-1951) was born in Bristol and was very influential in the promoting of the Brass Band movement in Britain during the first half of the 19th century.

 

Iles served as Master of the Company 1932-1933 and was appointed OBE for his services to the Brass Band movement in 1944.
