Established in 1959 from original donations by Viscount Astor (Master 1964-1965) and G.D.Lockett (Master 1965-1966; Treasurer 1961-1978) and thereafter by donations from the Livery, and used to support charitable appeals primarily musical with an emphasis on the St Cecilia Festival.
