This composition of a Postlude for Organ in E Major was awarded a 1904 Henry Cart Prize of £10. It was composed by James Lyon (1872-1949). Initially, musically self-taught, Lyon went on to Oxford to achieve a MusDoc and became a music lecturer, examiner, writer and prolific composer (including 4 operas). It is possible that this copy was made by the Company (to be held) before the original submission was returned to the composer or sent to the Publisher.
